beautiful . solitude

So ... I started class this past weekend on a VERY short notice. 

Thanks to my manager for willing to make immediate changes to my schedule w/o giving me issues.  Anyway, the official name of the class is 2009 TEXAS CHINESE TEACHER PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOP (i think), and it's an intensive 83-hour class that is supposed to provide potential instructors the education, knoweledge, and training on what it takes to teach mandarin to non-chinese speakers. 

Signing up for the class and the various website (moogle) that the class uses is actually really complicated, as is the design of the class ... class is conducted in mostly chinese, but the handouts are in english, and materials are in english, traditional chinese, and simplified chinese.  I'm feeling really overwhelmed since my chinese isnt up to par with the rest of my classmates, but in the case of instructing non-chinese (american) kids, it really is better to have solid english skills (that is, if i ever get to teach at all).   

Right now i have the dilemma of whether or not to do the assignments listed on the moogle thingy because our teacher actually never mentioned it in class.  not sure if it's for our class or not.
